Aspect Ratio Families

The three families below cover most of the sizes in the collection; knowing which one you belong to makes the list instantly usable.

• Classic Ratio, approximately 1:1.5. Sizes like 120x180 cm and 160x230 cm. The most common family, perfect for anchoring a seating arrangement or a bed.
• Long Ratio, approximately 1:2. Sizes like 100x200 cm. Ideal for narrow living rooms, in front of kitchen counters, beside beds, or under a single armchair.

First, Measure Your Room's Aspect Ratio

If a room has a roughly 1:2 aspect ratio, a nearly square rug, no matter how large, won't speak the same language as the space; the empty spaces at both ends will make the room look disjointed. The reverse is also true: if you place a very long rug in a square room, the rug will read like a pathway. Can two rectangular rugs be placed in the same room?

Yes, but the aspect ratios of the two rugs should be similar; otherwise, the eye will perceive them as two separate spaces. Typically, one anchors the main seating area, while the other covers a transition area or bedside.
