Size Guide
Size Guide
Choosing the right rug size directly affects the perceived size of a room. In the living room, the front legs of sofas should rest on the rug; in the dining room, when a chair is pulled back, the wheels/legs should still be on the rug (approximately 25 cm on each side); and in the bedroom, it should extend approximately 45 cm beyond three sides of the bed.
- 2 m² → 120x180 cm
- 3 m² → 160x230 cm
- 4 m² → 200x290 cm
- 6 m² → 200x300 / 240x340 cm

Last update: May 2026
The shape of a rug directly affects the perception of a space. Choosing the wrong shape can ruin even the most beautiful decor; the right shape, however, can make small spaces look larger and ordinary rooms aesthetically pleasing. At Hali.net, you can find rugs of every shape and size in our catalog of over 113,000 products. In this guide, we explain where each shape works best.
