How are Halınet carpets cleaned?

It depends on the carpet type. Washable carpets can be machine washed on a low spin cycle. Traditionally woven carpets should be cleaned by a professional carpet washing service. Vintage and handwoven carpets should be wiped with a damp cloth and never washed in water.

Which carpet suits which room?

Classic or modern patterns work well in living rooms, soft chenille/cotton carpets in bedrooms, washable carpets in kids' rooms, and washable non-slip carpets in kitchens. For hallways, long narrow runner styles are recommended.

Standard sizes based on room dimensions: 80×150 cm (small), 120×180 cm (medium), 160×230 cm (large), 200×290 cm (living room), 240×340 cm (large living room). Add about 30 cm of margin around the area your furniture will sit on.

Though terracotta is often categorized as a warm color, it acts like a neutral in a room. Its position among earth, clay, and brick tones makes it easy on the eyes: it doesn't demand attention like red, nor does it fade into the background like beige. This versatility is why our 2,921 terracotta models are so widely used.

Why it works like a neutral

The orange-brown balance in terracotta makes it compatible with all natural materials such as wood, linen, rattan, stone, and other terracotta items. These materials already belong to the same color family, so a terracotta rug connects existing elements rather than introducing a new color to the room. For the same reason, it's the warm tone that looks best alongside green plants.

Where it works best

Entryways and hallways: Dust and dirt from outside are much less noticeable on terracotta than on lighter colors.
Kitchens and dining areas: It maintains the same warmth as wooden cabinets, eliminating the need for a second color decision.
Bohemian and rustic living rooms: Pairs beautifully with linen curtains, wicker baskets, and simple walls.

Choosing wall colors

Terracotta rugs look cleanest against off-white, sand beige, and light sage green walls. With cool gray walls, its orange undertones become more prominent, and the two colors can clash. If you prefer a darker, more formal result, you can also explore our burgundy collection; for a more vibrant accent, consider our red collection.

Are terracotta and orange the same?

No. Orange is brighter and purer; terracotta has a mix of brown and gray, making it matte. This matte quality makes terracotta much easier to incorporate into large surfaces than orange.

What's the right size for a hallway?

When using a runner, leaving 4-6 inches of visible floor on both sides is a good starting point to prevent the hallway from looking narrow. In a living room, it's sufficient for the front legs of the sofa to rest on the rug. You can get a recommendation tailored to your room using our size calculator.
