Custom Size Carpets
3,473 stylesIf your living room is L-shaped, has a protruding column on the wall, or your stair landing doesn't fit any of the standard measurements, the problem isn't the carpet, it's the measurements. Custom-sized carpets bridge this gap: you enter the actual measurements of the area, and the carpet is made to fit those measurements. You choose a pattern from 3,497 models and adapt it to your own meterage.
When is a standard measurement insufficient?
- If a single piece of flooring is desired in L-shaped halls
- If a column or built-in wardrobe protruding from the wall cuts into the corner of the rug
- If the stair landing requires a measurement that precisely matches the width of the landing
- If the available sizes are either too short or too wide in long and narrow corridors
- If the carpet is only intended to cover a specific part of the room
Five Minutes Before Taking the Measurement
Rooms are rarely perfectly rectangular. It's normal to have a difference of a few centimeters when measuring the same wall at two different points; in this case, write down the smaller value to avoid the carpet getting stuck. Take the measurement from the baseboard, not from above the radiator pipe or wallpaper. Also, decide on the boundaries: will the carpet go all the way under the radiator, or will it end in front of the built-in wardrobe? Making this decision before writing down the measurement is much easier than trying to correct it later. You can check beforehand which centimeter corresponds to your desired square meter value using a square meter-centimeter measurement chart .
Centimeters or Feet/Inches?
You can switch between the Standard and Custom Size tabs on the product page and enter your measurements in centimeters or feet/inch. Using your familiar unit eliminates the risk of rounding errors during conversion. If you're unsure when to convert room size to carpet size , the carpet size calculator page will help.
